Rev. Aiden McMahon; Lee Ann D’Amato-Raymond, Worship Associate
At this, the 250th anniversary of America, our country continues to suffer from fascist forces and extreme levels of political polarization. Celebrating may be the last thing any of us wish to do. How are people of faith meant to hold the dual calls to love and justice together?
Aiden McMahon, originally from New Hampshire, just wrapped up his internship year with Mt. Diablo Unitarian Universalist Church in Walnut Creek. He received his Masters of Divinity from the Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia in 2023, with a concentration in Chaplaincy and Pastoral Care. Over this past year, he has taught classes on Biblical Literacy, given lectures on Christian Nationalism, and facilitated workshops on addressing religious trauma. Aiden counts amongst his largest influences the fields of Queer, Liberation, and Process Theology, as well as Psychology and Sociology. He will soon be returning to the East Coast to participate in the UUA’s new Ministerial Residency program.
