Reports to: Congregational Administrator

Oversight of: Volunteers, temporary employees, vendors, and contractors working on UUCD facilities.

Employment Status: Non-Exempt, Part-time. 20 hours per week.

 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Facilities Coordinator supports the efficient functioning of the UUCD facility. This includes overseeing and participating in needed maintenance and repairs, response to facility emergencies, and physical support for UUCD activities, as assigned.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1) Establish and maintain professional relationships with staff, congregants, renters, visitors, and members of the public through in-person and electronic communication.

2) Maintain and document security, safety, and operation of UUCD systems, equipment, and facilities.

– Assess and communicate to the Congressional Administrator and the Buildings and Grounds Co-Chairs any safety concerns regarding the facility.

– Respond to critical facility emergencies as required by UUCD’s safety policies.

– Work with the Congregational Administrator and Buildings and Grounds Co-Chairs to prioritize and complete work tasks within available work hours.

– Serve as initial contact for building repair issues.

– Perform minor repairs and maintenance of building interiors and exteriors.

– Schedule and perform system and equipment maintenance.

– Regularly clear roofs, gutters, and walkways of leaves and debris.

– Repair and maintain hardscape (paved parking, driveways, pathways, patio, and walkways).

– Coordinate trash pick-up and recycling.

– Maintain List of Vendor/Contractor resources.

– Coordinate and manage volunteer, vendor, contractor projects.

– Maintain clean, organized workspace.

3) Provide event support:

– If directed, set up tables and chairs in accordance with event specifications, clean paths and walkways prior to events, return furniture configurations after event.

– Coordinate parking plan for large events.

 

4) Maintain accurate and complete work and financial records.

– Maintain a Maintenance Schedule for buildings, grounds, systems, equipment, and preferred vendors.

– Maintain Operating Instructions for equipment and systems.

– Spend for maintenance and repair within approved limits.

– Submit receipts to the Congregational Administrator, with budget line notation, within 7 days.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

– Ability to work on-site.

– Basic knowledge of routine facilities maintenance (plumbing, electrical, irrigation, carpentry).

– Understanding of work safety requirements for operating equipment and tools and working in elevated or construction areas.

– Ability to prioritize work tasks and to follow through.

– Willingness to work a flexible schedule with limited on-call hours subject to prior agreement.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely.

Ability to use a variety of tools.

Ability to work at ground level, at full height, and on uneven ground.

UUCD is a non-smoking, weapons-free facility.

UUCD Members are not eligible for employment.
